Welcome to Project Laundry List. This is great, I think drying your laundry on the clothesline is great and now that I read how much electricty it uses, I’m sold!

Brighter Planet

Decent site to track your footprint and offsets, etc. I made a simple profile, but not sure how genuine the site is vs. just trying to get me to use on their credit cards

Air Conditioning taking a small bite out of solar savings

You can pretty much bank on the fact that the mercury will hit 90 daily in July, which means the A/C gets a workout… that will drain a little bit of savings off the solar, but not too much!  66% year-over-year decrease in kilowatts net consumed.. I can live with that.

DIA to set solar standard - The Denver Post

DIA to set solar standard - The Denver Post.  I’ve been driving by and noticed the built-out, but wasn’t sure if what I was seeing was true - it is!  A HUGE solar install at DIA!

The solar numbers keep getting better

I wasn’t sure how June would fare in our solar project, we’ve started to use the A/C a bit more, but also, are starting to use the clothesline now regularly - would that help?  Well, the bill arrived and the news was even better than I hoped!  Our solar savings got even better.  This means that our net usage decreased by a larger percentage from the prior year more than the prior month (May) vs its prior year correspondent.

I was surprised, but in a good way.  We’ve even had some more clouds than the prior month.  But apparently, the sun is blasting and the panels are doing thei magic.  The clothesline has to help, it looks like dryers aren’t a real electricity killer, but they do use their share.. we used to run it probably 6-8 times per week, these days it’s down to probably 2-3 at most.

Here’s the data - it’s unreal!
