Last year, well 2007, as there still is a few weeks left in 2007, I hit the road.. hard & often. Work had me shlepping all over the country, and world, to meet clients, internal meetings, and even partake in a little M&A work. I hit Europe 3x, NY countless times, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto and more..
But after all that, I did manage to make United airlines 1K level, for my 100k miles in a single year. I did get a few breaks here and there, extra miles for paying a higher fare and the like, but I can say, I earned this one. As someone who travels, United 1K will help. Easier and more upgrades, earliy plan boarding, better customer service (special # for 1K folks) and a much easier time using miles to buy award travel. I doubt and am cool with not hitting it again.. but I will admit, once I knew I’d be close, I did want to hit it, mostly so I didn’t get to 90,000 miles and come up just short, that would be a pity!
