for those who didn’t get my trip report..

I also spent a few hours at the Jameson’s Irish Whiskey tour, here’s what I learned about Whiskey

  1. Irish Whiskey is triple distilled, unlike the urine we know as American Whiskey (Jack) or Scotch Whiskey (My beloved Johnnie Walker), which are just single distilled
  2. Irish Whiskey comes from Irish water, unlike the urine we know as American Whiskey (Jack) or Scotch Whiskey (My beloved Johnnie Walker) which comes from used toilet water
  3. Irish Whiskey is made with barley, not like American Whiskey, which comes from cheap corn (you may know corn as “maize”)
  4. Irish Whiskey isn’t smoky like Scotch.. Irish Whiskey has a wonderfully sweet honey/vanilla flavor (it actually sort of burns).  Scotch is smoky, for those who have dead taste buds
  5. Irish Whiskey distilleries have cats around to eat all the mice that like to nosh on the barley that is used to make the whiskey.  In the old days, the cats used to catch 7 mice per day, yum!
  6. Some Irish Whiskey is aged for 25 years, making it very very rare.  Now, just because you see it all over the airport duty-free stores, don’t let that you think it’s not rare, they said it’s rare!
  7. Irish Whiskey is best with a few ice cubes (my opinion).  They offered it to us with ginger ale, cranberry juice, or coke – these offerings almost made me spill it all in protest as they sound so disgusting
  8. Irish Whiskey is easy to drink and doesn’t give you a hangover (this is totally false and I made it up)
