We finally went camping, and no, not in a hotel, in a tent!
. We went to Boyd Lake. We’ve lived in Colorado for 3.5 years and finally got to spend a night in the outdoors. We had a full day of boating and tubing, then setup camp, had a wonderful dinner (our new friend lella
was the hostess with the mostess - she brought food, drinks, cooked, had plates and all sorts of goodies – like those screens to keep the buggies out of the food. Our first camping was all good, except for Ben’s sleep. The kids had fun, the food and company were great, it was real hot, but the 3PM clouds were right on time. I couldn’t sleep much – a little warm, but more troubled by allergies! It was bad. When you camp for the first time, you learn to keep lists of things you didn’t bring! For me, anti-histamine, pillow, hammer (for the stakes), air conditioning (joke!), and I’ll probably add to this list the next time we go.
Now, after 3.5 years, we’re slowly continuing to tick things off of our list we planned on doing in Colorado:
-
Skiing -
Camping -
Broadmoor -
Rockies & Nuggets - Avs & Broncos
- Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
-
Drive I-70 all the way west - Fort Collins and/or Cheyenne (incl. New Belgium Tour)
-
Hiking - Dunes in SE Colorado
-
Vail - Other cities not seen yet: Steamboat, Aspen, Telluride, Crested Butte
So, we’re doing ok and the list is one we’ll keep working on – both adding and crossing off.
