Today we got an email with a slew of documents on our solar project:

  1. A quote for 60% of our energy need
  2. A quote for 70% of our energy need (sounds like with somewhat better equipment)
  3. Product sheets for each of the 2 different types of panels
  4. A site drawing for how the panels will hang

Well, the good news is that the prices are lower than we expected!  I think we were told by someone else earlier in the process of some idea of a ballpark, but we’re thankful that we now feel we can afford this.  Even better, at the prices we’ve been quoted, it looks like the payback should be on target, but I do need to calculate this in more detail.

As a beta tester for the new MSN Live Folders, I was able to store the docs there!  A summary of the pricing:

Next steps are to review the quote and make some decisions!  Last, but not least, how solar cells work (from howstuffworks.com).
