I’m no lover of France.. their politics and policies, and anti-american rhetoric make me want to gag and certainly never visit France, perhaps to my own detriment.  However, their recent stance against DRM may win over some people, like myself.  I’m sickened to think Apple will own the music market and beyond because of their closed and proprietary DRM solution (“fairplay,” even though it’s anything but fair, haha).  Anyway, I hate DRM and if France has some success, their approach could gain some supporters even in the US.  That being said, I’m much more skeptical the US will do the same, the folks in DC don’t have the stones to go up against hollywood and their lobbyists.  However, if Microsoft and some others support a similar stance in the US, ya never know.
